How can I get better traffic to my website ?
I have this website that I’ve been working on for just over a month and I’m trying to find ways to improve it’s traffic and get it noticed. I’ve done things such as post videos on youtube, left comments on other blogs and websites related to my topic. Joined social networks such as blog-catalog and twitter, and still my traffic is low. What am I doing wrong or what am I overlooking that I should be doing because frankly i’m stumped and very frustrated. My website is called The Razors Edge it’s a post apocalypse survival guide ( www.therazors-edge.com ) if anyone could give me some advice of what I could or should be doing I’d really appreciate it

Your site seems rather low on text for the spiders to analyze, adding some articles would help them categorize the site. I don’t see evidence of your seo efforts, yahoo site explorer reports a total of 2 inlinks, from Seema Blogs. It can take months for search engines to actually credit your site for some links. Being so image intensive, you should try harder to get into the search image indexes, while providing lower quality traffic, it still might be worth adding alt text (now missing) and perhaps longer file names containing key word.

Hello, First I would like to say you have a very creative approach to the subject. I really enjoyed going through your website. In regards to gaining more traffic, everyone is right, you need to take special attention to search engine optimization as well as engage in paid search.
If it were my site I would do the following:
1. Try to decrease the amount of code used throughout the site as much as possible
2. Use google keyword tool to narrow in and determine a few key terms per page (I personally try to stay with 2 – 3 per page) Once you have done this make sure to utilize those terms in navigation throughout the site as well as within your content
3. This appears to be an affiliate site which most likely means your advertising budget is limited. I would go ahead and perform a link check on your top competitors to see where they are advertising.
You can do this by going to Google and typing link:www.competitorsurl.com
I believe this will offer some valuable information on your next steps as well.
Good Luck!

As your website is just a month old, no wonder it’s in the low traffic slot. But if one considers, the things you tried in the past one month, then the feat is quite commendable. It also points to the fact that you’ll make your blog a success in coming days or months. Blogging or running a website is about constant evolution and most people lack this. It’s great that you have it in you.
Going thru your site, I found that though the content is in initial stage too, the content is compelling. In addition as you are showing dynamic content like videos on your website, you should focus on getting as many page views as possible. If your content is quite pulling ,page views will do the trick.
To get page views, try Traffic Exchangers too. They are really effective in attaining the objective. For more info on Traffic Exchangers, see the source url:

Articles. Write and submit articles to article directories, blogs, forums, ezines and any other place online that allows submission of free articles. This is one of the best ways to use because these articles will provide a lot of backlinks over time.
Plus articles can be viral and spread all over the internet. For example ezone publishers can pick them up and put them online in the ezine. These can be archived for years to come.
2. Blogs. Find other blogs that are related to your niche and visit them. These blogs have places to leave comments where you can include your website. Just be sure you make a legitimate comment and don’t just spam different blogs or the link building will not be effective.
3. Forums. Find forums related to your niche and get involved. Start reading posts, answering questions and asking them. Be sure to set up you signature file so that each time you get involved your website will be left behind which builds many backlinks.
4. Videos. Google owns You Tube and they rank videos very highly on their search engine. When you submit a video you can link it back to your website. This gives you a very good backlink and can give you some very good traffic as well.
5. Reciprocal linking. Trading links still works as well. You put their link in your resource directory and they repay the favor by putting yours in their directory.
The key is to keep the link relevant to the theme of your site. Search engines like it this way and so do your visitors. Trading links is very easy to do.
The most effective scheme that would increase web traffic is to make sure that your website is on top of the Google ranks. All you need to do is to know the online resources which you can use to push your sites to GOOGLE PAGE 1.
Getting page 1 is realistic. For example, check FreeTrafficSystem.com in Google search engine- they are on PAGE 1 in Google. By the way, this website FreeTrafficSystem.com is a free-to-join community where others are pushing their own sites as well.
